Project Managing

I am running a project from another country and encountering a few difficulties. My biggest is the ability to kick peoples backside when they let you down. I find conference call services help when you get through to people but getting through is another matter. And the reason I am project managing the job, is because it means I can shop and decorate a whole flat even if from remote, which I think is cool.

A special gift!

Getting personal gifts for him (the hubby) is always next to impossible. So when he came up to me and asked for a phone, how could I refuse. Admittedly it cost a small fortune but then I never seem to buy him anthing substantial. It always seems to be chocolates, ties and socks.

This is the phone I am getting him – click here, which apparently is an all singing all dancing phone costing more than my laptop!

Anyway… he ordered it early this morning and later on received an email saying he should buy the phone he just bought as it was the best in the galaxy. This made his day. Made mine too as he now “owes me one”!

Phones or more?

It is amazing what phones can do today. The latest models of phones are Android phones that are almost mini computers. Well I guess they technically are computers just scaled down versions of modern laptops. I took my hubby’s hand me down as he wanted the latest Android phone and I “pimped” my phone. Considering I have a hand me down, these are some of the features on my phone:-

  • Phone (duh!)
  • Camera
  • Barcode scanner
  • Recipe collection
  • Games
  • Educational stuff
  • Web Browsing
  • Calendar
  • Calculator
  • Timer
  • Twitter
  • TV Remote control (honest)
  • GPS
  • Calorie Counter
  • Camcorder
  • Email
  • Photo-shop
  • Planet & Stars Recognition
  • etc

And this is what I am aware of. Do I recommend. Without a doubt. My phone is a Google HTC and its pink (covered)! :)

Mobile Phones

I saw the phone that I would like to buy, now that I decided to withhold my spending for a while. Yes, I am trying to be prudent in this economic crisis. I must say that the shops are making it so hard with all the promotions available. Anyway, I digress, I love the new Ericsson phone with a 12 Megapixel camera but I cannot get one just yet here in the Isle of Man. Not that it matters so much, because it does not depend on the phone but on the cell towers to reflect on the reception (and unless you live very centrally in IOM)… so for now I guess Iwill wait. You never know… maybe Santa drops me one in my stocking!!!

With deliveries, they will deliver to a room of your choice. They will unpack it for you and take away the packaging for recycling. They will also take away certain old appliances like your old TV and Fridge subject to their being the same size or smaller than the one you are purchasing for a nominal non profit fee charge.

Delivery starts from Free. You will need to see if you qualify.

They also offer a click and collect service, where you can order online and collect in store and pay there an hour later.

Last but not least, they have Comet Auctions which they use for clearance on end of lines. You can bag yourself a bargain. However make sure you know the price of the item you are bidding on. I have seen a couple of auctions sell for more than if they walked in store or bought straight from the website. The point of the auction is to get a good deal.

Woolworths

Everyone has heard of Woolworths or commonly known as Woolies!

Woolworths have recently released their Big Red Book. This is a catalogue of over 1000 products. You can order these in store or online. You do not actually need the book as everything is listed online and the online prices are more up to date including sale prices etc.

Generally Woolworths have great prices on all their products.

There is a delivery price per order for all orders, including those placed in store. So you might as well place the order online and have them delivered direct to your door.

I must say I do highly recommend them. Their prices are low and quality good. And if you get their offers, you are on to a winner.

They do everything including:-

  • Party Goods
  • Stationery
  • Children’s Clothes
  • TV’s
  • PC’s
  • CD’s
  • DVD’s
  • Games including board games
  • Toys
  • BBQ & Picnic Items
