Everything takes so mych effort, it is next to unbelievable. I know I have twin babies and a four year old but I think I am far more tired than that. I guess that statement should highlight just how exhausted I am. In fact I even booked a GP appointment. Even shopping feels like too much, hence the gp apppointment.

I have kids and am constantly looking a making my life easier. Now you have probably heard about ear thermometers that you stick in the ear and a second later you have their temperature. Great invention, so much easier than old fashioned thermometers but you still have to stick it in their ears. Now I found a new gadget thermometer, not as fancy as a spirometer, but very useful. It takes temperature in a second and is non contact. In my books definately a winner especially with my daughter who hates anything shoved into her ears.

I did and got myself a lovely pair from Faith which were to make matters even better… on SALE! I love the word Sale.

Somehow adult acne treatment always seems more severe, I guess becuase they call it acne and not “just a few spots” as they do for teenagers. However, if many people even in their 20’s, 30’s and 40’s suffer from it, then cannot it simply be normality. We are always striving to have everything perfect including our skins. Now if we could airbrush ourselves, I am sure we would (hence tanning salons cropping up everywhere). As for fake tan, well that is another story on its own!

One of the best side effects of diet pills, dieting and losing weight is the need to buy a new wardrobe (unless you yo-yo diet and then have a wardrobe full of different size clothes). I used to be a huge size 24 and slowly (and I mean slowly) have slimmed down to a size 16 verging on a 14.

I was so unused to having lost weight and afraid that I would put it back on because I was destined to be fat forever, that I refused to give away any of my “fat” clothes, especially when I got pregnant. However 2 pregnancies later and I have mantained my weight. It is only recently that I have been giving them away as they have lain unworn for a few years now except for my last trimester in both pregnancies. It did save me buying lots of maternity clothes that would hardly get used.

But I still have not found that push I need to move down to a size 14. As a 16 tends to be baggy and a 14 too tight, I am in a huge shopping dilema… and I end up not buying. And this is sad, especially as Debenham’s have an up to 70% off sale!

I do like huge pharmacies like Boots and Superdrug but I like local pharmacies too. They are so much more personal and you can get anything from adult cystic acne treatment to nappies and advice. I mention advice because I feel it is so important. Like recently my son had something on his foot and I wanted to ensure that I was treating it for the right thing eg was it a wart or a splinter? So I took a photo of it and just asked. It was so nice to be helped. I was given full advice and a few extra suggestions too. I definately recommend a local pharmacy for intimate personal issues.

My friends daughter started suffer from eczema the moment she stopped breastfeeding her. Obviously her mum’s antibiodies must have been working till that point. Her mum must have tried every eczema treatment under the sun. Not even prescribed medicines seemed to do anything. In fact they made her skin look worse and the moment she reduced the dosage, it would flare up again. However, someone passed on a tip to wash in Camomile Tea. And as a last resort, she tried it. And it started having an immediate effect. She would throw in 3 or 4 bags into her bath and let her wash in it. She now has a camomile bath once a week just to keep it at bay. You would not believe that this kid ever suffered from Eczema. So I guess home remedies sometimes work. And camomile strikes again!

We have a health savings account, which I think is a great idea as you put money aside in case of an emergency. Technically we are covered by the NHS but this is a nice safety net. There are two issues with it. One is that as a shopaholic it is so tempting to spend. But on the other hand, I like having my safety net, so I think I won’t spend it. The other is that in an emergency, it might still not be enough cash whereas supposedly insurance would cover it.

I was reading that taking vitamins for acne for acne can work. Is it another ploy to make you spend more dosh? I am not sure but if you want to be logical about it, then you know that by taking vitamins you are ensuring your best of health. And usually with good health comes good skin. Add a healthy diet, good skin care routine and you should have good skin. At least that’s my theory. And if you want to spend… how about splashing out on a nice relaxing facial?
