Family News

I just heard that my brother has decided to embark on an online business degree while working as cabin crew and seeing the world. I must say that is life. Mind you, when I worked as cabin crew, I spent as much as I earnt. I liked the high life but it was high maintenance too. You have access to all reknowned brand names and at discount prices… it was hard… nay impossible to resist. My dressing table was overflowing with YSL, Clarins, Chanel and more. My wine cupboard was filled with wines from all over the world and my larder filled with all sorts of decadent treats. The only thing that I have to show for it now, is an ever so expanded waistline!

Well, shows he has a good head on his shoulders, I hope. I wish him the very best!

BRO…. do well or else… I am still your big SIS!

The Golden Prince

I must say that I really enjoyed reading The Golden Prince, by Rebecca Dean. It bears a similar story line to Prince William who is in love with a regular girl. In the book, The Golden Prince, is in love with someone, who although from a noble family is not royal and they have to try to come up with a solution to their royal dilemma.

Personally I felt like I was there sharing and living the romance and I struggled to put it down. Obviously I don’t want to tell you how it ends…. but I needed my tissues (for the happy and sad) throughout the book. Although not normally the sort of book I would normally go for… while reading it I almost felt princess like.

And if you want to read the book just get it from Amazon!

The Golden Prince

I think we tend to think of Prince William as the Golden Prince, but in this case I am refering to Prince Edward (who later became King Edward VIII). More specifically, I am refering to a book by Rebecca Dean. It is a book mixed with fact and fiction and is about romance versus responsibility. It has captured my imagination and I cannot wait to read the book. If you have a soft spot for Royalty, Romance and a touch of fiction… then just run to Amazon and grab yourself a copy. At the very least, it will make great reading for the holidays.

I will review it further once I have read it all.

Play Hard work hard?

I went round looking for some textbooks for my son while I was in Malta. As I am from a Maltese background, I thought it would be great to teach him some Maltese as well as give him some cultural background. In fact I think it is one of the Maltese peoples strength that due to their multi cultural back ground, we can fit in and practically blend in anywhere!! At least I believe many can!!

I was looking in particular for id-Denfil and il-gojjin by Tony C Cutajar, but in all honesty I did not look very hard choosing to enjoy the holiday instead!! You cannot blame me. I was however informed that the books are out of print… so if anyone has any old copies of these books and no longer wants them… I will be glad to take them off your hands. Apparently you cannot always shop to your hearts content!

Father’s day

This is a reminder for Father’s Day in a couple of weeks on the 15th June 2008. In case you are stuck for a gift idea, how about a magazine subscription? You cannot go wrong and for a whole year your dad will keep being grateful for his gift unless of course you pick woman’s own or woman’s weekly. Mind you, on the other hand, you may probably have a very happy mum!

Tesco Direct

Did you hear, Tesco has released a new and updated catalogue. And currently, you can get triple points on every order. Yippee!!

Marks & Spencer’s – M&S

Marks & Sparks as it is sometimes affectionately known is a well known huge department store. They are in my list of favourite shops.

You can say that Marksies is split into quite a few departments but mainly they do:-

  • Clothing (Men, Women, Children & Babies) and Lingerie
  • Footwear / Shoes (Men, Women & Children)
  • School wear / uniforms
  • Gifts & Flowers
  • Books
  • Toys
  • Technology
  • Garden, House & Home
  • Furniture & Furnishings
  • Wine
  • Insurances
  • Costume Jewellery
  • Holiday Shop
  • Technology

Both their quality and prices are really reasonable.

Their grocery section has a vast range of delicacies at reasonable prices. They also have ordinary food too. The biggest drawback is they generally tend to sell their own range only. For example they will only sell their own brand water, which is not particularly good. But over all the rest of the items are better than the average supermarket. However you cannot get groceries online presently. You have to go in store to buy them. Its well worth a visit. You can find an M&S on almost every high street.

They now offer Free delivery on orders over £30.00.

They have a loyalty scheme called the “& More”. It is credit card based. The more you spend, the more you earn in rewards to spend back at M&S. Its not a bad rewards scheme and you can use the card elsewhere to earn rewards for M&S.
