HP Deskjet 3050

I needed a wireless printer to make life a tad easier and I bought an HP Deskjet 3050. It’s RRP is £100 but I paid half price at £55. The one thing I did not take into account was that although I thought I wanted a basic printer, I didn’t!

So let me start with the Pros:-

  • Prints Fast
  • You can make copies
  • You can scan
  • It has wireless
  • It is easy to set up
  • You can get 2 sizes of inks – Black 190 or 480 / Colour 165 or 330 pages per cartridge
  • You only need 2 sets of ink – a black and a colour cartridge
  • Inks are cheap costing between £10-£15 each
  • You can get compatible inks for HP
  • Printing from pc to printer is decent quality

Cons

  • It does not do borderless printing, which I think is important for photos
  • You cannot properly centre the photos so the border is uneven
  • The quality of a copied photo is miserable
  • There is no preview pane
  • You do not have quality choices for scanning or copying

Summary

If you want cheap and good prints except for “photo” copies and are ok with bordered photos, then it is a good printer… otherwise sorry you need to spend a tad more!

Great Jessops Offers

While trying to find some vouchers for cheap prints, I came across these fantastic deals at Jessops for big spends online. Up to £50 off and free delivery!!

TV’s

We bought a new Samsung 3D Tv but it has been an absolute nightmare. It arrived broken and the stupid people are asking for £100 to redeliver! I mean seriously, if they do not pack it right in the first place, why do I have to suffer the consequences. So we are returning all the extras we bought too including the 3D glasses, the xbox 360 hdmi cable, the stand, the tv wall bracket etc etc

Now we are looking to buy it from somewhere else…

I will shortly post a full review of my tragic tale with my TV!

Cigarettes

This is more of a rant rather than a shopping post but then again I am suggesting a purchase.

I hate smokers. I grew up with them. The smoke hurt my throat and stank the place. And that is not to mention the disadvantage of the health risks. I never could understand it. And I struggle to understand how young people are still getting hooked on the damn things.  Admittedly using e cigarettes can help but the fact is unless people want to quit smoking, nothing will help. And smokers DON’T usually want to quit because they generally only care about their enjoyment!!

Food!

I dread to admit it but my weight is going up and up. I need to read up on the top 10 appetite suppressants and start doing something about it. All I can do is eat and eat and the more I eat, the bigger I get. And the bigger I get, the less clothes shopping I can do. Not good. I must I must start my diet! Just need to get on the band wagon but it is so hard.

:(

A floral welcome

I am a bit sick of my garder or rather front yard looking so miserable. My plants are half dead and my front garden looks sad and weedful. I need to go shopping for some gardening tools, weed killer, pretty plant pots and some seeds and bulbs.

However I must be honest and admit that I am quite the opposite to being green fingered… perhaps black fingered is more like it! Still, I can try and worst case keep replacing the plants with ready flowering plants bought at the right time of year!

Party Time

What is the opposite of an alcohol detox? Is it alcoholification? Well… the reason I am asking is because I am invited to a party at a neighbour and it mean that I do not need to drive or argue over who is driving or fork out a fortune for a taxi… and it has been ages since I drank (only just stopped breastfeeding). So I must say that I am looking foward to this.

My only issue is that I do not have a babysitter at 6 am and it will be Sunday, so you know the kids will be up by then. Can I buy anything to train kids to wake say at 10 am on a sunday?
