Lost!

I just came across our ski stuff and just realised that I lost a pair of ski goggles! I mean seriously, how do you lose a pair of goggles? I can understand a glove but goggles? And I thought I had 2 pairs… but I have none! Seriously, it is not like I can do anything to make me lose them, particularly as they should have all been packed together in a luggage specifically for when we jet off!! Ah well, guess if we go skiing this year, I just need to buy another pair!!

Tyres

My car had a service recently and one thing I was told was that I needed new tyres. I did not think twice at first until I heard prices. We were not talking brand names or ATV Tires but regular brandless tyres. I went for brandless mid range but because they were usual sizes, they cost over £100 each. And my car is only a Renault. I dread to think the prices for tyres for a luxury car.

Life is short

A friend of mine passed recently and it has really thrown me. It has made me evaluate my life. It has made me think about things like wills, life insurance and money. Most interestingly of all, I no longer care for savings but more for quality of life. If my life is short, then at least it will be a life filled with quality and no regrets.

Cabin House

If I were crazy enough to buy a cabin house, then I think a Muskoka chair for us is a must. You can just imagine sitting outside on a warm summer evening and enjoying the view.

Why are you giggling?

Oh!! I see the flaw… “warm summer evening”!!

Still, a girl can dream. Perfect home, perfect view and warm summer evenings!

House Shopping

I am house shopping and getting so fed up. I subconsciously forget viewings and I cringe every time I go on estate agent websites. And most of all, I am simply fed up of seeing terrible houses. We have a decent budget but it still is not enough for the space we need. It makes me wonder what people with regular budgets afford!  I have even gone as far as to consider buying some land and building or putting up a cabin or even some metal buildings but then again… I have a moment of reason and think for now I actually won’t shop for now. And for a shopaholic… that is sayng something.

Life

Today has been a surreal day. A friend of mine has sadly passed away today and another just started a new life through marriage. It has given me loads of food for thought. It has made me want to get a collection of personal christening gifts, birthday  gifts, photos, momentos to give to my kids. I want to prepare my will and most of all I want to spend time, quality time, with my kids. Shopping currently feels irrelevant!

The new method!

My 5 year old is really into his shopping scanners. Whether it is a Honeywell Barcode Scanner or just an app on our mobile, he justs adores it. He wants to scan everything.

You see scanning is the new way to shop particularly grocery shopping but all sorts of shopping.

In the case of grocery shopping, you scan your products with your app and voila it is in your shopping basket.

The other method is adverts add a barcode or QR Code and you scan it and you go straight to the website / object advertised.

Pretty cool. I just need to embrace the new method of shopping!

Project Managing

I am running a project from another country and encountering a few difficulties. My biggest is the ability to kick peoples backside when they let you down. I find conference call services help when you get through to people but getting through is another matter. And the reason I am project managing the job, is because it means I can shop and decorate a whole flat even if from remote, which I think is cool.

Uniform Time

Argh! It’s uniform time. It is always so expensive and you have to leave it to the last minute because kids grow like weeds. Unless you are great at estimating their growth and then you can take advantage of early special offers then it is expensive. This is my unform list:-

Thankfully other than a book or two nothing for music! Yay!

The brighter side

I have been trying to find the brighter side to the end of Summer. It is not easy… but hey here’s my list:-

  • Kids back at school
  • Sales prior to Christmas
  • Christmas
  • Snow and Skiing Holidays
  • Holiday Party Invitations
  • Cosy evenings infront of the fire
  • Having your shopping delivered to you rather than your facing the elements! Viva Internet Shopping!
