We have been invited to a fancy dress party, which I think is extreme fun. Last time I wore a nurses uniform but let’s just say I was slimmer then. So the question is what should I wear instead. Perhaps a visit to The Joke Shop is a must and a costume of a ball is probably appropriate. Still perhaps I can find something fun to wear!

I bought 2 sets of short and tops and they have been treated equally in terms of care. On the first wash, the smaller set looks liked it faded a bit and the second looked immaculated. The second time, the second set looked slightly worn but the first set needs to be consigned to the bin. It was as though I took abrasives to it and ruined it. I will post photos and think I will also send a letter to Disney as they are Disney Products!

We have worked really hard to own a flat to rent out. Sadly it has really backfired because the tenants keep paying late if they pay at all and most often when they do, it is a fraction of what they owe us. The law sides with tenants and not owners which means that we are owed a bunch of money and we are stuck. I have been thinking of using a commercial collection agency but I am not sure if I can do that legally. C’est la vie Anglais!

My brother has been travelling round the world and we were catching up. If only it were me. He was telling me of all his bargains from cheap nike sunglasses to designer clothes and clothes made to measure for less than regular shop prices. Mind you, I suppose if it were me, I would still end up paying for it in “extra weight allowance”! So perhaps they would not be so cheap after all! Still it would be fabulous!

I must admit that I was aware that I have put on weight and I am aware that when you visit a hot country you tend to swell a bit from all the water you drink… but argh… I could not fit into my swimsuit!! What a nightmare!! I have decided to go on a diet immediately on my return even if I need to find a diet pill that works because I never want to be so fat again!!!
I love my navigation system (SAT NAV/ GPS). Literally I can get anywhere without any hassle whatsoever. You put in your postcode or address and bob’s your uncle. You take a wrong turn and my system automatically reroutes me the shortest way. Absolutely fab. Then there are the extras besides getting from A to B eg garman golf gps finds you golf courses, you can find restaurants, hotels, petrol stations, supermarkets and shopping centres. And you can use mine all over Europe including Milan, Paris and London. Needless to say, I like the shop finding facilities the best!

Just realised that my roadside assistance ends at the end of this month and I need to get it renewed. I am always in 2 minds between just remaining and checking out other companies. What I find really impressive is that often, I end up with the same company but it is not a renewal but a fresh application because it works out cheaper. I think they believe that once you are a customer you will stick with them no matter what… which again goes to show that loyalty is not appreciated… so you might as well check out the competition!

You would think that the hardest present in a relationship are the diamond engagement rings which must be perfect. Men – in case you are reading, I must stress PERFECT! But every anniversary is hard. And again Men- NEVER forget an anniversary. We have decided to go with traditional gifts but every year it gets harder and harder. And now I am stressing about our anniversary this year because so far I am empty handed! Mind you on the plus side, our gifts so far have been memorable and mostly did not cost the earth!

Batteries have come a long way… you can particularly see this from mobile phones. A decade ago they were the size of bricks and last 4 hours on standby. Phones came with a second battery as standard. Today a Nokia can last a week on standby and light usage. So they have come a long way but still not far enough by any standard. You see we talk “wireless”. But really they are not wireless at all. Wires seem to be everywhere. When I can use a cord cover I do, but still there are wires everywhere!!
One day wireless will really mean wireless… hopefully in not too many years!

I ordered some plus size intimate apparel yesterday late at night and was really impressed how fast it has been dispatched. It was actually dispatched today. Considering that just a couple of year ago it was considered good to have something delivered in 28 working days!!! Need I say more. Now it is fast becoming standard that orders placed are dispatched the very next working day and most likely with you in a couple of days. Now that is speed… better than hitting the shops!
