Geography

My geography is absolutely terrible. I never knew that Branson was in Missouri, which meant that I never considered a Branson vacation, which is a shame because it seems to have loads of appeal. I suppose the reality is that if I had to travel to the US with the kids, I would still probably hit Florida and no prizes for guessing why. I could so do with a holiday!

Traditionally

In my family, Oil of Olay / Oil of Ulay was what the ladies always use as a face cream. And I am not just talking my mother but also my grandmothers. I suppose then it was the best wrinkle cream but today there are so many advancements that what they did is not necessarily what is best today. Unfortunately, I am probably not the best person to judge creams… though perhaps it would be worth a go!

Accutane

Accutane is a prescription treatment made with vitamin A to stop oil prodution, to stop or reduce acne. It was approved by the FDA in 1982. It also has side affects and has not worked for everyone who tried it. I think the worst side effect is birth deffects if you get pregnant while using Accutane. Other side effects include skin dryness, peeling, redness, irritation, crusting, miscarriages, depression, suicide, photosensitivity, trouble concentrating, thinning hair, decreased night vision, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, headaches, bone and joint pain, severe chest or abdominal pain, and difficulty or pain swallowing.

Worth it…  From my accutane review I doubt it!

Supplements

I think even with the best weight loss supplements, I still cannot breastfeed. There is all this talk about how when you breastfeed you burn loads of calories. What no-one tells you is how hungry you constantly are especially when the feeding becomes haphazard and your body is unsure how much to produce.

Perhaps it is time to start considering quitting feeding?

Desperation

I am getting desperate. I keep saying that I am going to start my diet but instead I keep eating and obviously putting on weight. I would consider things like hoodia diet pills but because I am breastfeeding, it is not possible. But my clothes are getting tight and I am getting unhappier. :(

I must, I must get mentally set to diet. I really must!

Work

I think my ideal job would be as a professional shopper but the reality is that jobs like that are hard to come by. Truth is most jobs are ok with me except for perhaps banking jobs… I don’t think I could handle all that money constantly. I would would feel constantly broke handling other people’s money. Besides which… accounting drives me up the wall… just could not do it.

Anyone wants to pay me to shop for them? The savings I could probably make, would probably cover my salary!!

USB Drives

I needed to get myself a usb drive to store some work on and my hubby gave me a purple one. I was made up with it and said that it was made for me because it was purple and made it feel feminine rather than just a gadget. He laughed at me and told me that usb drives can come in all forms and I should know better considering he has one in his watch. He told me that some of the weirdest include a Sushi USB drive, a Barbie and even a thumb! I think I will stick to the purple one (though the Barbie is tempting).

Samsung

Someone recommended that I try Samsung for a washing machine. I should have thought of them sooner. Personally I like the brand. I find them reasonably priced with lots of extras. Admittedly sometimes they compromise on certain areas eg on pixel quantity (too complicated to explain for a non pixel related post but basically though they offer high pixels, the quality is not as good as others of the same quantity). Anyway, with regards to my fridge, I love it. I had a phone (twice)…. loved them too. So now I think I will continue my washing machine search.

Modem

My hubby asked if he could buy a modem. He wanted a newer version to replace the one we have. Ideally a bit faster and wireless. I, stupidly, expected it to cost £10 – £20. So when it arrived, it was an all singing, all dancing version. So curiously I asked how much it was. Let’s say I was very wrong with my expectations as it was £160. Gulp. Serves me right. On the plus side, it has made my hubby really pleased because it can do a whole bunch of things such as handling 2 phone lines, Conference calls, wider wireless range and on and on the list goes apparently. But because it is his baby…. read his review!

Washing Machines

I am still looking for a stupid washing machine. Apparently nearly no-one delivers washing machines directly to IOM except through a supplier and suppliers know this so that they put ridiculous surcharges of over £100. Tesco recently said they would deliver anything in their catalogue free to stores, so I tried to order one and found that it is only home delivery mainland uk and no store delivery. Argh. Perhaps I need to consider alternatives like whirlpool tubs but who knows if I will face the same problem?
