Weight Gain

As you probably realise from reading my blog, that I am obviously pregnant. I am actually having twins which is great especially when it comes to shopping.  However I am meant to be putting on so much weight every week and I am not. Not sure that I am going to complain about it because I know that it is far better than any of the best weight loss pills post babies being born but it leaves me worrying about the babies and if they are gaining enough weight. I keep toying with buying some pre-mature baby clothes, but then I would rather hope they are born full weight and size. Anyway fingers crossed.

New TV

I know that the first couple of months with a new baby can be a bit mind blowing, so I have talked my hubby into upgrading our satellite subscription, after all day time TV has never been good. But this got my sweet technology addicted hubby talking about new TV’s, plasma mounts, LCD’s, etc etc. Personally I am happy with our bog standard TV but then again, who am I to complain? After all I do enjoy the advantages of his technology addiction. So perhaps I will let him go ahead and indulge in a little technology shopping!

Baby Shower

I think it is so strange that this pregnancy I decided to not go with a baby shower, but then again things are different. This pregnancy I chose to actually go on holiday rather than visit family and friends (which is where I had my previous shower). Also since moving to IOM, all my friends seem to know me as so & so’s Mummy, which makes it feel awkward about having one here. And whereas all my family were here for the birth of my son, things this time are very different unfortunately. Never mind, time to plan the Christening.

Our Car

I told you that we recently bought a Renault Espace. I must say I do like the car. It does feel a bit van like to drive, though my hubby disagrees but it has some wonderful benefits. First of all it can seat 7 but if you want to use it to load things, you can remove all 5 back seats or even store them using just a side of the car. My son likes the fact that it has airline style tables (and keeps insisting he wants to eat in the car).

I just want to, as my brother says, “pimp my car”! I want new car mats, seat belt protectors, a vanilla smell, sun visors etc! I cannot wait. The only thing is I cannot go pink as my hubby will need to use the car sometimes too. Perhaps Disney!!

Spots

I must say I thought with pregnancy comes blossoming, glowing and blooming. Except I seem to be suffering severely of acne. I mean seriously I have not had spots like this since I was a teenager. Admittedly I never out grew them but the amount I have is devastating. I have had to reduce myself to buying acne remedies for teenagers (and even trying toothpaste – my favourite teenage remedy).

Mind you on the plus side, an old wives tale states that people who continuously have spots through their prime years age more slowly. Not sure I believe it but it would be a nice reward for having to suffer spots throughout life.

Diet Pill Comparison

Yesterday I mentioned the offer of the Fastin diet product and thought perhaps you would be interested in reading a bit on diet pill comparison. There are websites which actually review each of the tablets. I would obviously like to do an indept comparison of each tablet but being pregnant means that I cannot test them (though perhaps later to remove the excess er baby weight).

Anyway, this particular website collects reviews from people who have actually tested the medication, and their experts then recommend the best pills available. The important thing to remember is that you need to follow a diet while taking the medication if you are really serious about losing weight.

Fastin

Talking about offers, I found out that Fastin is currently on offer at $59.99 reduced from $129.99, which makes it a pretty substantial savings. It also includes Free Shipping. They do say they ship to most countries (unless they have specific medical rules which would not allow them to ship to you).

Needless to say, Fastin is a diet medication and should be taken according to its instructions. For example in this case, you are not to take more than 4 tablets in a day. Always read the medical infomation leaflet enclosed with the product.

School Wear

I bought my son some school wear from M&S as they were on a buy 3 get 1 free offer, which I thought was good. Except this week Tesco and Asda were really out doing themselves. They had a school wear offer of £15.00 for a bundle of stuff including things like

  • A pair of shoes
  • Socks
  • Polo Shirts
  • A couple of Pairs of Trousers or Skirts
  • A Jacket

The jacket alone from Tesco normally retails at £12.00. Needless to say, I thought it was an amazing offer. Hopefully they will offer it again next year and I will look out for it! I suppose they do say hind sight is 20/20. Perhaps we need a school alert system which alerts parents of these great offers that are available or will be available. Meanwhile, I will try to keep on top of things and advise you of offers as soon as I find out about them.

A new tumble dryer!

I need a new tumble dryer and buying one is proving to be ridiculously hard. Okay, admittedly I am being a bit finicky but only because I had what I wanted till it developed a fault and no-one would fix it for me. You would think people would be pleased to fix an appliance especially with global warming etc etc. I cannot understand why people are hesitant to fix things, I mean it is not like it will hike up their business insurance or costs.

Anyway, back to my tumble dryer requirements. I previously owned a White Knight that was A rated and reasonably priced. It had a sensing level and two heat settings and some easy iron setting. Clothes came out soft and practically did not need any ironing. Which in my books is fantastic.

My problem. White Knight no longer make their A rated version, only a B rated. This could be acceptable except living in the IOM means nearly no-one delivers here. I was actually asked for a surplus of £50.00 to have it delivered.

So I tried to order a different dryer from other places, except their sites don’t exclude the IOM in their T&C’s and results in my order getting cancelled, or getting to the end of the order and being told they won’t deliver to my house. Very frustrating.

So now I need to decide… pay that £50.00 surcharge or settle for something else! Argh! Who would have thought buying a dryer would be this horrific?

Cravings

Today I had this huge craving for Indian food. Now I must say that I am not a person who particularly likes spicy or hot food… but when you are pregnant, all the rules change. So I made my dear sweet hubby run out and pick up an Indian take away. And I must say it was Divine. OK perhaps my sense of taste has changed but he picked up some really tasty food from Spice of India. The Korma was like nothing I have ever tasted before. It made all previous Kormas really quite horrid tasting! The only drawback is that I would normally feel guilty about the amount of calories consumed and you would not want to even consider taking fat burners because of the ridiculously high fat content. Indian is definately not diet food. On the plus side, I am pregnant, so who cares…. pass me another piece of Naan! MMMMM
