Conservatory

I really want a conservatory but it seems to be as though I am asking for the impossible. I have had quotes ranging from 5k to 25k for exactly the same specs. Makes you wonder what the difference is between the 2 extremes. Anyway, now we are suddenly being told that we will have a “wet wall”, whatever that is. I mean if the wall is the same wall that is being used in my kitchen (and I don’t have wet walls in my kitchen), why would I have wet walls in the conservatory.

Also planning permission seems ridiculous. We need between 500 – 1k for an architect to help us with some drawings just for planning permission. Then it takes up to 12 weeks to get permission and last but not least, we need another 21 days before any work can start. That is approximately 4 months before you can do anything!!!

Honestly, if it were not because of the babies coming along, I would quit the whole conservatory idea and just do up our patio. I would buy some new patio furniture, varnish the decking and perhaps add a few plants. But I could really do with the conservatory as I need the extra space desperately.

I am not looking forward to deciding on who to go with it and then dealing with all the paperwork that will probably be attached to it. Wasn’t shopping for stuff meant to be fun?? Conservatories sure aren’t!!

Dieting taken seriously

I have been doing some mystery shopping for a pharmacy and they are obviously taking their whole new diet range seriously. With the new legislation to allow the sale of diet pills over the counter, it is nice to see they are being extra careful. The pharmacists are also really great. They do ensure that only people who really need to lose weight can buy it. Which is a good thing otherwise can you imagine what would happen if an anorexic person got her (or his) hands on the tablets. The nice bit is that everyone who is overweight can now get help with dieting, which is a blessing really.

MPV or RV?

I mentioned that we were looking for a 7 seater to “upgrade” our car. So we have been out popping from dealer to dealer to try to buy an MPV. Anyway, we recently came to a dealer and they had an rv for sale, and jokingly I said this is what will be ideally. So much for me opening my mouth. My son thought it was a great idea and kept going on and on about getting it. So when we came across other seven seaters, he was “No, I want the caravan!”. Bearing in mind that we have no driveway and you cannot even park on our street, it is sadly not a good idea. Still, would have been a good idea to buy a motor home! Imagine having everything you need at the tip of your fingers?

The Breast Way

I was looking for an EZ 2 Nurse pillow because I heard they are fantastic when breastfeeding twins, as it makes it easy to feed both at the same time and even have free hands!! They are not cheap so I am trying to find the cheapest for sale.

Apparently there are loads of benefits to breastfeeding. These include not having to make bottles especially in the middle of the night, the babies develope a strong immune system and you lose your baby weight really fast. Who would have thought that breastfeeding would beat the best diet pills arounds. I guess the only drawback is you can only breastfeed if you have a baby (which fortunately I will do).

Still Miffed

I cannot help it, I am still miffed. Everytime I think about our anniversary I cannot help but get a bit miffed. You see we were planning a cruise and well I will be more than 24 weeks pregnant when it is our anniversary and as a general rule cruises do not let you travel with them if you are more than 24 weeks, even if you are only 25 – 26 weeks. So I am tres dissappointed. Still, we will be heading to Paris and EuroDisney, so it is not all bad (except for the high souvenir costs). And hopefully we will go on the cruise sometime in the future. Fingers crossed because with a couple of babies along the way… it is a scary prospect.
