Diet Aids

With all the latest diet pills on the market, I thought you might be interested in this information.

Some diet pills use ephedrine as their main ingredient. This is is a sympathomimetic amine  which is in this case used as a stimulant and appetite suppressant. It can also be used as a concentration aid, decongestant, and to treat hypotension associated with anaesthesia.

Other diet pills like Orlistat contain tetrahydrolipstatin which is a drug designed to treat obesity.  It is used to  prevent the absorption of fats, and so reduce caloric intake.

However in either case, they only work with a calorie controlled diet. I.E. aside from a quick liposuction, there are no quick magic cures (though they can be a good slimming aid).
