Rewards

I am trying to work on a reward chart with my son. So far it seems to be working well. Everytime he does something good he gets a sticker for his reward chart. However when he disobeys he gets told that now he will not get his star (removing a sticker is not as easy as Super Nanny seems to imply as it results in a torn chart). He also knows that when his chart is finished, he can go with me to a toy store and pick out a toy of his choice. Needless to say, he is really excited about it all. My only fear is that he will want a whole bunch of toys and not just one!! Well I will keep my fingers crossed till then and maybe use the other toy wishes to encourage him to get more stickers for his next chart.

Has anyone had any success with Reward Charts?

Long Weekend Away

Just back from a nice long weekend away. It is always so nice to go off and relax somewhere. Admittedly, we weren’t going for the Outer Banks rentals just Butlins but  I have to say it superceeded my expectations.

We stayed in Gold accomodation, which meant that I had every comfort I needed. As for my son, I have to say it was tremendously special as he met Bob the Builder, Fireman SamAngelina Ballerina, Barney and Billy the Bear. Even dear hubby was happy as he had time to read and was even able to borrow a couple of complimentary DVD’s. The only drawback was wifi was not available but then again it depends upon whose perspective you are seeing it from. They did have an internet cafe to give a fix to internet junkies and it is meant to be a holiday. After all if you only want internet, then you might as well stay at home!!

I think our favourite bit was the swimming pool or should I say pools? There was a volcano jacuzzi, a kids slide area, a toddler pool, a wave pool, a swirly bubbly area, a cave, a shallow pool, a large pool, flumes and some major rides. We went there daily and stayed hours. It even put the fun fair out of first place (and that had free rides too)!

Hubby wants to make it a week next time… so I must say it comes with our recommendation.

Fabulous Leotard

Fashion Leotards

I thought this leotard from The Ballet Shop was absolutely fabulous. If I weren’t so pregnant and if I was still actively dancing, I would buy it before you could say Sansha! It is pretty and I think probably figure enhancing. Mind you, I do suppose that most dancers don’t need to enhance… but a little enhancement never went amiss!!

Bigger Car

The thing that comes with increasing your family is the need to increase your car size. I always thought that when we bought our Jaguar that that would be the biggest car we ever bought… except I am now pregnant with twins… and so we need to “upgrade” to a 7 seater. I am not quite sure if “upgrade” is the right word as some of the 7 seaters I have seen do not come anywhere near close to the standard of car of Jaguar. Sadly Jaguar do not do 7 seaters (at least as far as I am aware).

On the plus side,  an auto insurance quote for a 7 seater is far lower than my current insurance on my Jaguar. My only issue so far is when I put in an offer for a car and it was accepted, we came to sort out how to pay they changed their mind about selling (and we were happy to pay cash if they were happy to wait till the next day).  Go Figure!!

Liporexall

For obvious reasons I cannot review all slimming drugs that you can buy over the counter… Otherwise I won’t have time to review other shopping. However liporexall reviews are pretty much basically the same as other slimming drugs. They do claim however to help burn fat, increase thyroid function and increase lean body mass.

It does start getting iffy with all the drugs available, and personally I suggest that you consult a dietitian, nutritionist or GP before messing with slimming drugs. But once you decide to lose weight… just go for it!

Alarms

I have often wondered if having a home alarm is a good idea or not. I mean first thoughts always seem – well DUH!! But really, think about it this way …

People who put up a home alarm only do so if there is something to steal. If I were a thief (and in case you are wondering – I’m Not!), I would probably have things to look for such as nice house, nice car, open windows, lack of dogs etc. Now an alarm would be a telltale sign of someone having something to protect.

Mind you, I suppose on the other hand, if you had an alarm and did not advertise it… now that is a better idea. You are protected without advertising your goodies!!

Diet Aids

With all the latest diet pills on the market, I thought you might be interested in this information.

Some diet pills use ephedrine as their main ingredient. This is is a sympathomimetic amine  which is in this case used as a stimulant and appetite suppressant. It can also be used as a concentration aid, decongestant, and to treat hypotension associated with anaesthesia.

Other diet pills like Orlistat contain tetrahydrolipstatin which is a drug designed to treat obesity.  It is used to  prevent the absorption of fats, and so reduce caloric intake.

However in either case, they only work with a calorie controlled diet. I.E. aside from a quick liposuction, there are no quick magic cures (though they can be a good slimming aid).

Strange Shoppings

The interesting bit about my pregnancy is the weird shopping I seem to be doing. Obviously my clothes shopping has turned to maternity wear (expensive and unbecoming and unfashionable) but to give you an idea of what I bought today…

  • cheese & ham sandwich (laced with frosties)
  • strawberry bonbons
  • coleslaw (laced with sweet chilli cheddar)
  • oreos

Needless to say perhaps I ought to buy a strong appetite suppressant because of everything I am eating!! I am going to be huge by the end of this! Still maybe breastfeeding will help me drop the weight off!
