Shopaholic? Me?

I am not sure why I keep getting asked what flash memory is. I mean I can tell you where you can buy some from but explain it? I am not sure I can. You see I am a shopaholic not a techie person. I will try to give an explanation (which means in future I can just refer people here) but if you think you might want a more detailed explaination, then you might want to Ask Owen.

So flash memory is a way of storing information in technological gadgets. This is most often in items like Cameras but can also be found in toys (my son has toys with memory cards), pianos (my hubby’s electric piano has a slot) and even in phones (so you can do more).

There are different types of memory and essentially the difference is the size of the card. They also come with different memory sizes. The size you need is dependant on what you want it for. Here is a list of types of cards but there may be more types:-

• Compact Flash
• XD
• Smart media
• Micro Sd
• Mini Sd
• SD Cards

Now, different places have different prices and they can vary greatly. You have to bear in mind postage. I have seen them for sale at a penny but then the cost of postage was riddiculous. So this is one area you do need to compare prices. I tend to pick mine at 7 Day Shop simply because I always order photographic stuff and so I am not paying postage specifically for the memory. I am sure there are better prices than 7 Day Shop but as I said, if you are picking up other photographic stuff, then they become reasonably cheap.

Beyond that, there is very little I can tell you. However, if you are in photography, I personally prefer say 2 x 1GB card than 1 x 2GB card because it means I always have one empty to take more shots. But that is my 2 cents. Hope this answered some questions about Memory Cards.

A friend of mine has been suffering from shoulder pain. Someone suggested to her that she gets a shoulder pain pump. With my being an obvious shopaholic she turned to me to ask me where to buy one. I was stumped. I mean we are not talkin

I can already feel it. The island of man is gearing up for the TT. Roads are being maintained, signs are being put up, there are adverts for motorcycle accident attorneys (which come in really useful especially for Mad Sunday) and people are already having trouble finding accomodation for the duration. The best bit about it is there is a buzz in the air. The place becomes alive with activity. Shops open solely for the 2 week period of TT (and some stay open for the summer too if we are lucky). It is a wonderful time around the TT in the Isle of Man. Now if it were only like that the whole year round. I heard it used to be in a time when it was popular to holiday at home!

Aren’t these love glass coaster wedding favors simply adorable? I think they make really great coasters with a touch of romance. I know they were intended as wedding favours and I know that they would not do for a male apartment, but if you are female (or a new couple) I think they could add a really nice and romantic touch to any apartment.

One of the best things about being pregnant is not having to worry about my weight. I can take a break from trying to lose weight and just try to eat healthily. Mind you the cravings I have for meat does not make for a healthy diet. Despite this, I guess I can forget about losing weight and weight loss pills and just enjoy being pregnant. Meanwhile, I can head off to buy some lovely kids clothes perhaps from Naartjie now that Adams & Woolworths closed down!

I recently found out I was pregnant, which I am over the moon about. What has taken me by surprise is how bad my skin has become. It has never been particularly fantastic, but honestly speaking I never expected myself to be looking into acne treatments during pregnancy. I thought that pregnancy was meant to make you glow with fantastic skin and glorious hair. Perhaps in my second trimester. Here’s Hoping! Meanwhile, perhaps a trip to the salon would do me a world of good. Any excuse for a beauty treatment.

I really want to do up my garden in time for spring. I must start by saying that where as I am a shopaholic, I am certainly not greenfingered. The nearest to green fingers are green gloves!

So let me tell you a bit about my garden. Well it is not a garden per se but a front and back yard and some hardy plants which keep getting attacked by my cats. It would be nice to have some Cherry or Plum trees but lets be realistic.. I do not have the space. So all my plants have to be potted. I have lots of roses (which suprised me how hardy they are). I would love to have some plants to flower constantly even if there were two or three types of plants per pot. But honestly I know nothing about plants…. so I either need to buy a book or call in some help!

I just wanted to advise you about taking precaustions with travel health insurance. My sister bought some annual insurance from Easyjet only to find out it only covers easyjet flights. So her easyjet flight was delayed and she missed her connecting flight which was non easyjet. And we don’t think she is covered. We need to fight it out.. but we are not holding our breathe. So make sure you read the t&c’s to be prepared for everything because there is nothing worse than being under insured. It wasn’t any cheaper than other insurances, so it was really easy to assume that is was annual travel insurance with all travel. Obviously not the case. At least now you have been enlightened.
